Today at school we played a school wide game called Hush Day. The rules were that you couldn’t verbally speak to the opposite sex, including teachers and staff, outside of instructional time. Everyone had a paper heart around their neck. If you spoke to the opposite sex outside of instructional time you had to give that person your heart. It was like “Who are you willing to give your heart up for?” you know? Really adorable. Well this is how the game went for me.
I had my heart all morning. I was doing really good at not talking to the opposite sex. Then during 3rd period these guys started messing with me. Apparently yelling “Ahh!” is considered verbally speaking to someone so they proceeded to yank my heart from around my neck. I couldn’t do much, they were big and black aha So my heart was gone. I spent the rest of the time talking to everyone since I had no heart to lose. I was done playing the game.
Then lunch started.
In walks hecka football players, one of them being Christian Miller aka really cute football player with the gorgeous hair. He was so silent it was ridiculous. He already had like 15 hearts around his neck; it was quite impressive. So I’m sitting there talking to my friend about how hard it would be to get his hearts, loud enough for him to hear me. He smiled. His smile? Nice enough to make want all of his hearts ;) aha So I’m sitting there working on Valentine’s Kisses, thinking of ways to get all of Christian’s hearts. He proceeded to type on his phone “Vote me for best hair.” I just laughed and said “So I don’t get a name or a hi? Just a ‘vote for me’?” No way was I gonna let him off the hook that easy aha Then his friend walks in. They were both so into the game that they weren’t even talking to each other; they were trying to communicate silently. So my friend, who also had no hearts, went up to them and was like “You know you guys are both guys so you can talk to each other, right?” Once she said that they busted out laughing. Then Christian looked at me and began to say “Ohmygosh, see I was trying to -” All I could do was gasp and point. And before I could take two steps towards him, he was out of the lobby and across the student union. He was definitely not trying to give me his hearts. He just so happened to take all of his stuff off, so when he ran out he left all his stuff in the lobby so I took his vest; it was a puffy red one and it matched my outfit. Then he tried to convince me that he wasn’t talking to me, that he was just looking past his friend at me but still talking to his friend. Of course I didn’t believe him. So I made him a little deal. He could keep the hearts if I could keep the vest until the end of the day. He agreed.
After school I made him follow me to the leadership room. After like 30 minutes of chillin in there we both had to go. But before we left, I was going to get my hearts. So I took off the vest and waited. Then he was like “So you want them all or just mine?” I thought about it. Keep in mind that by the end of the day he had gained like 10 more hearts, so that was around 25 in total. But I figured the only one I really want is his so…I just took his. His heart for his vest. I’m happy. It was a very nice trade. He said “See you later” when he left. I’m okay with seeing him again. :)
And that is the story of how I got really cute football player with the gorgeous hair’s aka Christian Miller’s heart.
